twisting balloons to kneading dough, Stacy Elaine Dacheux's
drawings investigate simple processes: small gestures which awaken the power of
aesthetics. Her films are continuations of such studies. They sweep her
illustrations into live-action performances matched with quotes or clips from
other artists to develop a personal multi-genre narrative. Dacheux,
also an advocate of cross-community work, finds inspiration in her surrounding
LA comedy circle-- creating limited edition posters for Josh Fadem's stand-up shows and appearing on IFC's Comedy
Bang! Bang! In 2018, The Echo Park Film Center commissioned her to
make an original Super 8 short with support from the Andy Warhol Foundation for
